After a period of trial and error, Gette De Deken reinforced the band in 2000. From then on Snakes in Exile were fired up by a drummer with additional skills on bodhran and conga's.

Gette, Luc and Gert have bumped into each other in the mid-eighties when they did occasional gigs together in a few endlessly line-up changing rockbands. They lost contact until January 2000. The Snakes, still a trio, had done a few gigs with El Fish drummer Rohal De Ridder and really got a taste for it. Gette - playing the bodhran in a local folkband at that time - was invited to a Snakes-rehearsal 'to try out a new bodhran'. The after-party was legendary and Gette's been coming to the rehearsals ever since and soon became a full-time band member.

In 2006, Gette decided to go his own way and handed over the sticks to Kristiaan Malisse.

But this is no goodbeye. We're looking foreward to Gette guest-appearences at the bigger venues. .
